The NW section of the Veteran Car Club has 70 members, the majority of whom gather at the AGM and dinner every year. The area covered by the section is from Cheshire to the Scottish border and from the Isle of Mann to the Pennine “border”.
Every VCC section organises at least three rallies every year, a Spring Opener, a Main Event and an Autumn Closer, all of which are open to all VCC members. One can be busy every week. The planned NW section events are described on this web site.
The event of the year is, of course, the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, LBVCR, organised by the RAC.
The cars of the NW VCC members are as varied as the careers they have taken. Few members are marque focussed with most multi-car owners having a Veteran and an Edwardian. The most marque diversity seems to be with the committee, Panhard, Georges Richard, De Dion, Sunbeam, Cadillac, Franklin, Olds, Darracq, Rover and Ford.
The knowledge and enthusiasm in the section ensures that cars are kept going on rallies. Unless of course the breakdown is terminal.
